Whale watching
Start: 6.30 - 7 am, Mirissa Fisheries Harbour.
Duration: 3 - 5 hours.
Route: 5 - 15 miles from Weligama - Mirissa - Dondra coastline.

Description:
Thirteen species of whales reside around the island of Sri Lanka including blue whales, sperm whales, humpback whales, beaked whales, melon headed whales, pilot whales, and false killer whales. Two of the predominant species that are resident in Sri Lanka, are the sperm whale which averages 40 - 60 feet and the blue whale which averages 60 - 100 feet long and weighs up to 200 tons. During the trip, guests may also see up to eight different species of dolphin.
The most commonly seen species are Sperm Whales, Blue Whales, Brydes Whales, Short Fin Pilot Whales, Spinner Dolphins, Humpback Dolphins and Bottlenose Dolphins.
You can choose the option to be aboard special whalewatching boat or to have a relaxed trip aboard luxury sailing cat.
Snacks and soft drinks are served during the trip.
